I need braaaaaaaains

Know how sometimes, when you're slightly sick or very overtired (or a combination of the two) your brain doesn't wake all the way up until about noon-ish? I'm dealing with that at the moment. I just realized I wore a shirt that is incredibly low-cut to work today, my shoes don't match my outfit, and I don't think I brushed my hair. I'm trying to finish a coke, in hopes of a caffiene rush to perk up my brain, but it's gross. Seriously. Acidic and corn-syrupy and it leaves a weird-tasting film in my mouth. I'm not a fan of soda.

I am not a fan of these nails, either. I got a french manicure, and it's like typing with candlesticks. Clumsy. Half-numb. They're part of this world, though. Unmanicured hands means you don't care about your appearance. You're not a detail person, and maybe this isn't the right job for you. It's weird what this world requires. The place I work and the place I live are in two different worlds, and getting ready for work is the equivalent of donning a space-suit in its intricacies and the amount of attention required to get things "just so". Crazy.

Someone wake me up, give me a couple shots of day-quil, and let me go back to sleep. This half-sleep, the walking braindead, isn't cutting it today.
